Helen Dean is an abstract painter based in New Zealand.
Originally from England, where she completed her Fine Art degree long ago, she now lives with her small family in a house amongst the trees of West Auckland. It’s here where she rediscovered her love of painting.
She is drawn to a colour palette that features muted pastels with deeper navys and mossy greens. Her work is created slowly and intuitively by adding and obscuring layers. Organic forms emerge from this practice, that suggest the shapes and shadows in the landscape around her.
In recent years, she has become an international art seller.
